Key Information

  1. Places cannot be guaranteed on the programme. If there is not sufficient interest in a subject stream, this placement will not go ahead.

  2. Selection criteria will apply including academic ability, postcode, preferred subject area and detail within the personal statement.

  3. Make Happen is part of the Uni Connect programme funded by the Office for Students (OfS). The main focus of Uni Connect is to provide targeted higher education outreach to young people in years 9 to 13 living in particular geographic areas. Thus, postcode forms part of our selection criteria and students who do not live in postcodes we work with will not be eligible for this programme. If you have been advised to apply to the Scholars Programme by your school, then please complete the full application. If you are making your application independently (e.g. by reading about it on social media), then please email A.Turner@makehappen.org to check your postcode eligibility.

  4. You may be offered a place on your second or third choice programme if you state ‘yes’ in the section above.

  5. You will hear back from Amy Turner regarding your application by 22nd January 2021.

  6. If you are successful, parental permission will be sought and they will be required to complete Parent Information by 9th February 2021, otherwise your place may be given to someone else.

  7. Times and dates of tutorials are to be confirmed but a commitment of 7 sessions will be expected. All sessions will be delivered after school via an online platform.
